Saulsberry says Franklin Sheriff had been drinking in faceoff with coaches

Two members of the Monroe City School Board complained that Carroll High School coaches were not treated fairly when they were suspended and arrested last week, and one said the Franklin Parish Sheriff had been drinking.

Board members Rick Saulsberry and Darryl Berry said the coaches should not have received any punishments.

The complaints followed the arrests of Carroll Head Coach Brandon Landers and eight of his coaches after the Franklin Parish high school football game last week.

The coaches were reportedly being escorted out of the stands by Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb who reportedly pushed and cursed the coaches and allowed fans to tackle one of the coaches and put him in a chokehold.
