Nelwyn Poland Fontana is no longer employed as the office secretary at Ouachita Junior High School. Whether she was fired or allowed to resign is uncertain, but the school system is not denying that what she wrote was unacceptable.
On Monday, January 16, 2023, a private text message Fontana apparently thought she was sending as a private text to a relative but sent it to a black coach instead. The public became aware of a text message when the short text thread was screenshot and posted on Facebook.
