Second suspect gets slap on wrist as murders, shootings continue

As shootings and murders in our community continue, another person originally charged with murder, has been given a slap on the wrist.

   Four years ago, Devontae Coleman was arrested and charged for his part in the murder of Junius Benton in the Robinson Place Subdivision. Police detectives worked their magic and jailed Coleman on charges related to the shooting of 15-year-old Benton. But somewhere between his original murder charge and now, his charge was changed to negligent homicide, which only carries a five-year sentence.

   This week, Coleman was sentenced…
