The Southside Economic Development District will begin hosting community meetings in Monroe’s Southside to get input on on-site selections for three planned model neighborhoods.
At its monthly meeting Monday at the Benoit Recreation Center, the SEDD received concept layouts of three dream communities to be set up in each of Monroe’s Southside District as examples of the Southside Dream.
Tim Brandon of TBA Studios in West Monroe presented the three neighborhoods that have been initially suggested by SEDD’s Safe Neighborhood and Crime Reduction Committee.
Minister Verbon Muhammad and Jeanette Modicue worked with the consultant to make the first neighborhood selections, said Brandon.
The selected neighborhoods will be the focus of SEDD’s neighborhood development efforts, said Roosevelt Wright, Jr, chairman of the Safe Neighborhood committee of SEDD.
