Funeral services for the matriarch of one of Monroe’s most well-known families, Helen Walker Green, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She died on February 4, 2025.
She was 87 years old.

Helen Walker Green was the third of six children born to the late Sidney and Maggie Walker of Dubberly, LA. in 1937.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Nebo Baptist Church.
