Robert Lee Jones, 78, of Gonzales, Louisiana, a retired United States Marine Corps Sergeant, passed away on April 2, 2025. A proud veteran, loving father, and faithful friend, Mr. Jones was known for his strength, discipline, and unwavering love for his family and country.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Smith Funeral Home in Monroe, Louisiana. Burial was at Richwood Gardens Cemetery, Monroe, Louisiana, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and high school classmate, Katie Johnson Jones, cherished granddaughter Canaan Caseopeia Anderson, mother Ruby Bohannon Jones, and father Joseph Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted daughter Monica Jones Anderson, son-in-law Casper Anderson III, and beloved grandson Casper Anderson IV. He is also survived by his loving sister Joyce Edwards, brother Wilbur Jones, sisters-in-law Olivest Johnson Wilson and Emma JoAnn Johnson, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Robert Lee Jones served his country with honor and lived his life with integrity. His legacy of service, love, and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
