Funeral services for Aston Markail Bass, Sr., were held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Greater Free Gift Baptist Church, 5510 US Highway 165 Bypass, Monroe, LA. Visitation was on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McFarland Funeral Companies, 1901 Burg Jones Lane, Monroe, LA.
Mr. Bass died January 9, 2025. He was 42 years old.
Aston Markail Bass, Sr., was born on March 29, 1982, to Robert and Jacqueline Bass. He peacefully transitioned on January 13, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories.
Aston accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized as a member of New Galilee Baptist Church. A proud product of Monroe City Schools, he graduated from Wossman High School in 2000 and furthered his education at the University of Louisiana Monroe.
Aston was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bass, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Eddie and Marie Jackson; and his paternal grandparents, Jessie, Sr., and Octavia Bass.
He leaves to treasure his memory his loving mother, Jacqueline Bass; his children, Aston and Achilles Bass, and Aja Gorham, all of Monroe, LA; his siblings, Robert Bass, Jr., Joshua Bass, and Cherie Bass, all of Monroe, LA; his nephew, Roddrick Bass; many devoted cousins; and a host of aunts, uncles, other family members, and dear friends.
Aston will be remembered for his warm spirit, unwavering faith, and the love he poured into his family and community.
