Neriah Tolliver has big dreams for her life that include graduating at the top of her class, and earning a college degree. Along the way she wants to make history; she wants to be the first female to earn the Eagle Scout rank.
Wednesday, the Boy Scouts of America announced that it will allow females to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, breaking a 100-year all-male history. While girls have participated in various co-ed Boy Scout programs such as Venturing and Exploring, they were not allowed to compete for the coveted Eagle Scout Rank.
Neriah, a sophomore at Neville High School, is a member of Top Gun Time Traveler Venture Crew #65. It is one of only a few Venture Crews in Louisiana that involve girls in the Boy Scouting program.
