Status of NAACP leadership still unresolved, branch to swear-in leaders

A swearing in ceremony for newly elected officers of the Ouachita NAACP is resulting in complaints of foul-play from one candidate for the branch’s top slot.

    The Ouachita N.A.A.C.P. is scheduled to install newly elected officers Thursday night, even though a challenge to the election results has not been resolved.

Marie Brown, a candidate for branch president, filed a challenge to branch elections held in December after computer glitches failed to send ballots to 32 new members she registered.
