A Richwood High School student was arrested Monday, October 25th, after school security guards discovered a loaded .40 caliber pistol in his bookbag.
Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Chris Gilbert, 18, of 1410 Sycamore Street, Monday on charges of carrying a firearm or dangerous wagon on school property.
According to the official report, Gilbert, a student at Richwood, was entering the school complex when school administrators performed a random book bag screen.
The report says Gilbert became agitated when administrators began to search his book bag.
A detective was called to the area and Gilbert dropped his bag and walked off. When administrators searched the bag they found a loaded Smith and Wesson SD40 .40 caliber pistol in the bottom of Gilbert’s bag.
