Supreme Court rules Judge Hunter not eligible for Supreme Court run, Guidry wins

In a significant ruling handed down on August 20, 2024, the Supreme Court of Louisiana disqualified Judge Marcus L. Hunter from running for the position of Associate Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court for District Two.

The court’s decision reversed the judgments of the lower courts, which had previously upheld Hunter’s candidacy despite allegations of false certification regarding his tax filings.
