Teen shot in leg adds to Monroe gun violence spree

A recent spate of gun violence has cast a shadow over Monroe’s Southside, leaving residents shaken and fearful.

The latest incident involved a 13-year-old accidentally shot in the leg while playing with a loaded weapon in an apartment over the weekend. This non-fatal shooting, recorded on social media in South Monroe apartment, adds to a string of violent events that began on April 4th with a shooting at Tommy’s Express Car Wash on Highway 165.
