The Monroe Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi celebrates Founders Day

On January 13, the Monroe Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity marked a significant milestone – 113 years of existence. The Founder’s Day Celebration was a memorable event filled with camaraderie, reflections, and inspiring moments.

Brother Christopher Broussard served as Toastmaster and set the tone for the evening. Brother Rusty Potter delivered a heartfelt invocation and blessed the food. Diving into the fraternity’s history, Brother Ross Bethea provided a historical synopsis and tribute to the local founders. Brother Thomas Williams gave a tribute to the national founders.

Brother Larry Mason did a musical selection. Brother Ibra January, Polemarch of the Monroe Alumni Chapter introduced the speaker. The keynote speaker, Brother Andrew Randall, Jr. Pastor of the Sunrise Baptist Church in Shreveport, an attorney, Director of Juvenile Service for Caddo Parish, and Polemarch of the Shreveport Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity shared insights, emphasizing the fraternity’s values and positive impact on the next generation.

Kappa League is a program for the educational, occupational, and social guidance of male students in grades 6th-12th. These students were commended by Brother Jason Stewart for their outstanding achievement in maintaining the honor roll. Brother Andrew Hill acknowledged Brother Arnor Ford for his remarkable 50 years of membership, honoring him with the prestigious white Kappa Blazer.
Brother Ibra January delivered closing remarks. The fraternity is committed to investing in education by providing high school students with scholarships.
