A third member of the Louis family died this week, adding grief upon grief to a prominent family struggling to cope with the deaths of a mother, father, and now a brother with a month’s time.
Final arrangements for Hilton Christopher Louis, were incomplete at press time Wednesday. Louis is the brother of mayoral candidate Fred Louis, who tested positive for COVID, was hospitalized but recovered. A sister was hospitalized with the virus, but was released last week.
The family made the following statement as they announced Louis’ death”
“It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Elder Hilton Christopher Louis, announced his transition into the arms of the father.
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8
The family wishes to thank all who have prayed, fasted, and petitioned Heaven on his behalf. We are ever grateful for the love shown. To those who knew him and heard him preach, remember the things he taught know that he is alright in the arms of Jesus and have joined his parents in heaven.
To our husband, father, brother, and uncle, we love you dearly and cannot imagine this life without you but we submit to the will of Our Father. You are missed and the void in our hearts can only be filled with the love and memories we share with you. Until we meet again in love.
