Monday night, June 5 there was a sudden downpour of rain in Monroe. The rain came down in torrents making it difficult to see the street. Some streets began flooding and visibility was low.
As many residents cuddled down in their homes to ride out the storm two vehicles pulled into the old Car Wash on Jackson Street. The young men knew each other. They talked with windows rolled down, and engines running.
