Two with firearms arrested during homecoming block party

Two men were arrested on firearm charges during Carroll High School’s Homecoming parade and block party on Thursday, September 19, 2024, according to the Monroe Police Department.

At approximately 10 PM, officers working the event observed 25-year-old Keyshawn Lenard walking eastbound on Renwick Street. Police allege they spotted a handgun in Lenard’s front pocket. When authorities approached him, Lenard reportedly crossed the canal bridge to the Lillie Marbles Recreation Center parking lot before returning to Renwick Street.
