The Monroe City School board in a 5-2 vote, voted to grant a one-year extension to the contract of Superintendent Brent Vidrine.
Vidrine had sought a new three-year contract, but instead was granted a one-year extension of his present contract.
Vidrine was praised heavily mostly by persons employed by or who had children in Monroe’s Northside Schools, all of which are above average academically.
