Four months after stepping onto the campus of Louisiana Tech University, Mia Ariah Williams is turning her long-standing dreams into reality, continuing a proud family tradition while forging her own path in higher education.
For Williams, the journey to Ruston represents both a fresh chapter and a deep personal connection. The daughter of Mr. Magellan A. Williams, Jr., and Ms. Cynthia Aldridge, she chose Louisiana Tech after being courted by numerous colleges and universities across the region. Ultimately, the opportunity to attend her father’s alma mater proved to be the winning factor.
Williams’ roots run deep in the local community. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Maxine Tatum, the late Mr. Magellan A. Williams, Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hercules Aldridge (Jewel). Before making the move to Ruston, she established a strong foundation of service and leadership in Monroe as an exceptionally active youth member of First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor, the Reverend Tegitra K. Thomas.
A standout 2026 graduate of Neville High School, Williams built a reputation for excellence early on. She dedicated four years as a skilled violinist with the Neville High School Opera, balancing her musical talents with active civic involvement. Her achievements prior to college earned her recognition as a 2026 Les Martinique Débutante and a member of Top Teens of America (TTA).
Now, four months into her freshman year at Louisiana Tech, Williams is bringing that same dedication, talent, and spirit of excellence to the university campus as she settles into college life and looks toward a bright future.
