Community members, family, and colleagues are mourning the passing of Sharon Faye Jackson, a retired Department of Corrections officer and long-time Monroe resident, who passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the age of 68.
Jackson dedicated years of service to public safety with the Louisiana Department of Corrections before retiring, earning the respect of fellow officers and community members alike.
Funeral services honoring Jackson’s life and legacy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Green Grove Baptist Church in Monroe. Following the service, interment will take place at Richwood Memorial Gardens in Monroe.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Monroe, where friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects.
