New Neville Sports Pavillion named after “Coach Rankins”

Neville High School alumni and fans gave a standing ovation to it’s Dean of Students, Roosevelt Rankins, Friday night for his decades of service.

It happened during half time when the Hakim family formally presented a new sports pavillion to the school and dedicated it to “Coach” Rankins.

The sports pavillion, built at a cost of over $200,000 will be named after Coach Rankins, an announcement that brought tears to the eyes of Rankins who has shepherded generations of students through Neville with his greeting “Get Down Tiger.”

On hand for the presentation were Abraham Hakim, Eddie Hakim, David Moses, Head of Construction for the Hakims, and Coach Rankins.
