Hello, guys; this is Roderick. This week, I will touch on black Colleges, student profiles, a Book Review, and Cyberbullying.
I like Howard University
Howard University is a private institution that was founded in 1867. My dream is to attend Howard University. I have heard lots of great things about Howard. My cousin currently goes to Howard, and he told me that I would enjoy it. Next month the Black-Tie-Guys will visit several colleges in Louisiana including GSU, SU, Dilliard, Tulane, and Loyola. I’ll get to see a few campuses in Louisiana during the spring break.
Meet Julius Brown
Meet Julius Brown a bright student who loves to read, tell jokes, and explore new ideas. Julius is a straight-A student. He was born on a sunny summer day on June 15, 2013, to Fratonna Williams and Jarrod Brown. He is a fifth grader at Riser Elementary School. He wants to be a scientist. He will be graduating from West Monroe High School in 2030. He is a member of the Solomon Temple Baptist Church.
Book Review
On Monday, February 19th, Mrs. Sherrie Gibbs came to the Black-Tie Guys’ meeting at the Marbles Recreation Center and read us one of her books. The Book is called Lafaya’s Wings. Mrs. Gibbs said she wrote the book to teach kids to be patient and to keep going. The book is about a caterpillar who wanted to fly but couldn’t wait. You can purchase the book on richpublishing.com. She is the mother of Germaine Cotton.
Cyber Bullying
Kids need to know about Cyberbullying because we use the internet a lot. I looked it up. Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyberbullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else’s behavior.
