Teens to commemorate 50th year of King Assassination

On April 4, 1968 Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated in Memphis. Since then, two generations later young people are  learning that there was more to the man than just a speech.


 Fifty years after Martin Luther King was assassinated, how has the world changed? That’s what a group of teens will discuss Monday, during the annual “Teens for the Dream” celebration.

  Taylor Josh Powell, a Ouachita High School Junior, is coordinating this year’s teen program for Dr. King which will be held on the King Holiday at 1 p.m. at the Tab-A-Torium on N. 9th Street.
