Woman accused of Hit and run in August, arrested for DWI Wednesday

A woman who was arrested for hit and run driving in August was arrested again Wednesday on charges of DWI.

Police arrested Tiffany Heard, 36, of 605 Harvey Avenue in Sterlington, she  was arrested Wednesday, November 20th on Charges of First offense DWI with a $1,000 bond.

Heard was arrested on August 3, on charges of hit and run while driving, negligent injury, Operating vehicle with a suspended license, and no proof of insurance.

According to police records, Heard was the driver in a hit and run accident in August. The accident occured on the corner of Central Avenue and Delta Street in Monroe in which her GMC envoy “crashed into a pedestrian that was operating a bicycle on Central Avenue. Heard reportedly left the scene. She reportedly told police that she did hit the pedestrian but left the scene because someone had taken the victim away from the scene.

Police report that Heard’s vehicle drug the victim approximately 100 feet.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
