A Monroe Police Department officer hired in 2024 was arrested early Saturday morning by Louisiana State Police following a traffic incident in Ouachita Parish.
Dominic Lyn Simpson, 26, was taken into custody on Sept. 5, 2026, and booked shortly after 5:30 a.m., according to public booking records from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. The arresting agency was listed as Louisiana State Police Troop F.
According to jail records, Simpson faces four misdemeanor counts:
Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (First Offense)
Speeding / Speed Zone Violation
Driving on Right Side of Road (Exceptions)
Improper Turning Movements and Required Signals
All alleged offenses occurred around 5:35 a.m. on Sept. 5.
Simpson’s total bond was set at $1,450. Records indicate he was released shortly after 6:00 a.m.
