Happy 99th, Mr. Woodrow Jenkins & many more!

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Psalms 91:16 (KJV)

Yes God in His goodness continues to bless Woodrow Jenkins with longevity among so many other blessings! We acknowledge this as we shower him with adoration and well wishes as he celebrates his 99th birthday on November 6, 2019. “99 and on-the-go” best describes Mr. Jenkins and his active lifestyle!

Born in Sicily Island, LA, in 1920, he’s resided most of his life in Monroe, LA, where he established and operated his own Building Construction business for over 60 years. Monroe also graced him with a special bond: a 54-year marriage to the love of his life — the late Rosa Lee Watson of Peck, LA, who operated her own successful Cosmetology business for decades. This union gave birth to four daughters: Freda and Debra of Monroe, LA; Vanessa of Houston, TX, and Zeretha of New York, NY.

Mr. Jenkins is a World War II veteran who served courageously in the U.S. Army for 3 years. As an honorable member of the 923rd Engineer Aviation Regiment, a special unit designated to work in conjunction with the U.S. Air Force, he participated in and conducted surveillance missions throughout England, France, and Germany. After his return to the United States, Mr. Jenkins settled back into civilian life and on occasion, began interspersing his commitments and obligations with a little rest and relaxation. And just how does Mr. Jenkins spend his spare time, you might wonder! Well, glad you asked! A deeply religious and spiritual person, Mr. Jenkins continues to faithfully serve as the Sunday School Superintendent at The Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Monroe. In addition to that, he’s a huge sports fan! Basketball, baseball, and football — all favorites of his! Why he and Rosa Lee, his late wife, were both members of their respective basketball teams at Rosenwald High School (Sicily Island) where they attended as youth. But if professional wrestling is his #2 favorite sport, then there’s only one sport that could be his true #1 — and that would be hunting! To this very day, he remains a truly dedicated and avid hunter! Hands down: Hunting is his passion — his absolute favorite hobby — that he was introduced to and enjoyed participating in with his father for many many years!

Mr. Jenkins is cherished and abundantly loved by his family, church members, a host of friends, professionals, business associates, and well wishers from the community! Happy Blessed 99th birthday, Mr. Jenkins, and many many more! May God continue to bless and prosper you and yours!
