Scripture: If ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments…or if your soul abhor my judgements, so that ye will not do all my commandments…I will even appoint over you terror, consumption (wasting disease), and the burning ague that shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you…your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits…and I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children…when you are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hands of the enemy…and if you will not for all this hearken unto to me, but walk contrary unto me; then I will walk contrary unto you, also in fury; and I will chastise you seven times for your sins. And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons and daughters (Selected Passages from Leviticus 26:14-29).
I feel God has commissioned this writer to warn you again of his upcoming judgement against his disrespectful, disobedient and sinful people. It appears that many of us are deliberately ignoring his warnings, as usual.
High among his punishments will be famine and pestilence, neither of which, any of us can imagine or stop. No amount of empty prayers and false promises will deter them once they are enacted.
My friends, God does not play. Sometimes, those of us who have been, what may appear to us and others, given unusual assignments, but we and other workers in his vineyard have found by rude awakenings, he was and is serious.
When I was told to strongly advise you to begin thinking about consulting elders, who to you, are not active participants in your beloved computer world about how to successfully plant vegetables in your backyards and flower beds, this writer knew you would think I have reverted to the old days and that we are “out of step” with the real world.
Well, empty stomachs do not dwell in time frames. However, the day will surely come when you will value their knowledge in the application of many old inventions which worked for them and was very instrumental in the lives of their ancestors to their survival.
In those days, we were taught to solely depend on God for our livelihood and to express our gratitude every moment given us. In our text for this message, Moses was assigned by God to prepare his people to enter and reside in the Promised Land. As is recorded in the Bible, they ignored his warnings and suffered the dire consequences of their disobedience
America! America!! Please adhere to God’s warnings. Pray for me.
I’m praying for you.
P.S. My friends, do you know that whoever mistreats or treats kindly God’s people, they are persecuting or treating kindly, his Son, Jesus Christ? He feels it just as we do (Matthew 25: 35-40). Pray for Jesus’ persecutors. God is moved with the feelings of our infirmities, also (Hebrews 4:15).
