Jesus Christ said, “Stop promoting wars in my church!!!”

By: Dr. Jacquelyn Simmons

From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another (James 4: 1-12)?

My Dear Friends,

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is very disturbed at what he and some of his flock are viewing in some of his churches. There are leadership problems such as; 1) some members are vying for a change of leadership and they are refusing to cooperate with their present administrators; 2) organizations can not function properly due to constant “bickering” among their members and eventually “sides” are formed which result in the total destruction of their effectiveness; 3) many times their problems overflow into other organizations; 4) there are devastating problems when church officials and members yield to adultery and fornication, especially among themselves. It soon becomes common knowledge among members and of course their antics spill out into Christ’s communities. Respect is lost not only among his church members, but the entire church community; 5) some of Christ’s members are in a dress contest. They strive to see who can wear the most envied attire to the point of appearing borderline ridiculous; and 6) sometimes there are financial problems whereas distribution of funds are questionable.

Many years ago, under leadership that is now deceased, this writer and the church membership who were present witnessed two “mother’s of the church” engaged in a physical altercation at the offering table. By the way, they were both wearing white in order to denote their high christian church station. During this same time, this writer also witnessed a deacon “pass out” before 9:30 Sunday School classes began. His diagnosis? Intoxication!!! What poor examples for some of Christ’s sheep having the desire to eventually “step up” to the plate and fill any christian church position, because due to age, health, and other unforeseen factors, all positions in life will become vacant.

In our aforementioned text for this message, the writer, James, points out desirable characteristics and functions Christ expects to exist in his church and the consequences of disobedience to his stated expectations.

Presently, Jesus is noticing the lack of attendance in his long established churches and many churches being established, some under questionable leaderships, and his flock being fed questionable “fodder” of which he does not approve.

Some longer established churches are not passing his litmus test (test to determine realness), either. Some of his flock do not feel welcome and/are consistently denied participating fellowship in the church where they hold their memberships and either have given up searching for his true spiritual food and remain at home “pecking” on cell phones instead of “pecking” on them at Christ’s church.

Prayerfully signing off, my friends. Praying to visit with you next week.

God bless “you and yours”,

Love, Jacquelyn Simmons
