My Precious Friends,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 1:7 KJV). Our God is an awesome God! He thought of us when we did not think of ourselves. We were doomed for an eternal death, but God stepped forward and sent the “best” solution to solve our sin and death problem. He sent His Son, Jesus, to be our Eternal, Everlasting and Endless Savior. “Look at what the Lord has done!” The Psalmist asked the question, “What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits toward me? He declares, “I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord; I will pay my vows to the Lord now in the presence of all His people…” (Psalm 116:12-19 KJV).
Have you ever taken a moment and allowed your mind to think about what God has do for you? Or have you become so busy with the toils of life that you have settled in a place where you are constantly asking God for this or for that, but never think about what He has already done? The fact of the matter is that we must recognize how amazing God truly is and what He has done for us. Beyond providing our daily bread, giving us shelter, and ensuring we are clothed, He has done the most wonderful thing through His Son, Jesus-He gave us the gift of eternal life. This gift comes free of charge, but only if we believe in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross over 2,000 years ago. That belief means we will live forever in His presence. “Look at what the Lord has done!”
As I meditated on Isaiah 42, I found myself shaking my head in awe of what God has done for us. Even before we were born, God had already prepared a way for us to be freed from the prison of sin. The prophet Isaiah spoke of Jesus’ coming approximately 700 years before He walked the earth. He declared that Jesus, God’s Chosen One, would “open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house” (Isaiah 42:7, KJV).
Some 700 years later, Jesus fulfilled this prophecy, bringing Good News to the suffering and the bound. After being handed the Book of the prophet Isaiah, Jesus read these words:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised” (Luke 4:18–19, KJV). Look at what the Lord has done for us!
