My Dear Friends,
After several weeks and perhaps months of unforeseen challenges and disappointments, it is a blessing to finally see a “glimpse of daylight”. There are those persons who may not understand when dark days tax our lives. In fact, they may see our motioning throughout the day, but will never know or truly understand that the struggle to get up some mornings is difficult.
Based on my observation, Christians who walk and talk with God on a daily basis have the tendency to camouflage how they really feel when trouble has entered their lives. I have witnessed them praising their way through situations and circumstances while encouraging others to hold on to God’s unchanging hand. Consequently, this is my story.
In reality, the Lord has allowed me to prepare to speak at conferences, present at workshops, teach Bible classes, Sunday School and even write in this publication. I believe with my whole heart that God is real, and I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I know with every ounce of my heart, soul and mind that He is powerful, strong, mighty, a counselor, “a bridge over troubled water”, etc. yet, I travelled through some dark days these past few weeks; and if it had not been for Him, I would not have made it. I am confident that He loves me, He saw my needs, my struggles and guided me through the dark days. Now, I see a glimpse of daylight. “Thank you, God for the sunshine.”
You may wonder why I am thanking God for a glimpse of daylight. Well, recently there have been unexpected close family deaths as well as other family issues that have caused undue distresses. However, God has been with me. Naturally, individuals want to quickly recover from the death of a loved one or other pressing issues, but we must admit that sometimes this is tough to do. There are times that life will get painful and “hard-hitting”, but we must remember the Word of God and apply it to every situation.
My prayer: Lord, thank you for a glimpse of daylight. I am grateful that you have kept me throughout trying times in my life. You are such an awesome God! You have led and guided me each day. Even though the days appeared to be dark, you were my eyes which enabled me to continue to walk and stay steadfast in Your Word. Thank you, Lord, for all you have done and doing in my life. I appreciate you giving me this message, and I pray that it blesses someone as it has me.
In Jesus’ Name,
