Scripture: Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts (territory), and set him for their watchman: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning;…his blood shall be upon his own head…But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked,…thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand…When I say unto the wicked, thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;…None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him:…he shall surely live…When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord. And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not. And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them (selected passages from Ezekiel 33).

My Dear Friends,

As you probably have noticed, God is quite concerned about his spiritually locked church doors through which his people cannot enter. He has been expressing his displeasure not only at the lack of spiritual food and drink being served, but also some of them blatantly refuse to partake of them. Many of them sit on church pews not listening to his messages delivered from his pulpits, podiums, and church classrooms. Instead, they deliberately “sit and peck” “on cell phones and tablets in order to continue their games and other worldly “filth”. They had already begun enroute to church or at home. Quite a number of them become offended when asked to put them away. They pretend to do so, and immediately continue whatever they were doing or switch to another “App” which is extremely offensive to God. How dangerous! Many times they have been led to believe it is perfectly alright, due to the fact that the speaker is also using the cell phone or tablet from which the messages are spoken/or taken.

By the way, my friends, the main purpose for attending Jesus Christ’s church is to hear the messages he is sending to us, his people. Singing, praying, praises, quoting scriptures, sharing testimonies, hearing announcements, taking offerings, etc. are very important to church services but only to serve as “sides”. However, the main dish served is God’s word. He has commissioned his messengers to serve his people. They are to make them aware of his offer of eternal life through their belief in the life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension of his son’s, Jesus Christ’s position at his right hand serving as our lawyer before him and he has never lost a case. Hallelujah!!! Oh yes, he has not and never will. This servant is a living witness, once counted out, but by the grace of God, still here!

God bless you and “yours”, my friends and may we meet again during the same time and place next week.

Love you much.
Jacquelyn Simmons

P.S. Let us partake and digest the spiritual food God fed us through his prophet, Ezekiel.
