On September 9, 2025, Geoterrius Spivey, a substitute teacher at Richwood High School, confessed to sexually abusing a 15-year-old student, leading to his arrest by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. The confession followed a sheriff’s investigation prompted by a complaint of a possible sex crime at the school.
During an interview at the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Annex, Spivey was read his Miranda rights, which he waived, expressing his desire to provide testimony.
According to court documents, Spivey admitted that at 10:45 AM on September 9, 2025, the victim visited his classroom to “hang out.” He claimed the student made sexual comments and leaned toward him, after which he guided her hand to his private area over his clothes.
Spivey further confessed to exposing himself to the student and encouraging her to engage in a sexual act, which continued until other students nearly entered the room. When confronted with inconsistencies between his account and the victim’s, Spivey admitted to the sexual abuse.
The victim, however, provided a different account, stating that Spivey put her in a headlock, causing her to fall, and forcibly coerced her into sexual acts.
She reported attempting to resist, but Spivey allegedly grabbed her hair and forced her to continue. The victim also noted that Spivey had accessed her social media account, which he admitted to doing.
Following his confession and the investigation, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Spivey.
He was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of two counts of Second-Degree Rape, Sexual Battery, misdemeanor sexual battery and Simple Battery.
