Scripture: There was a rich man…, who dined sumptuously every day:…A beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table:.., the dogs came and licked his sores…the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried. And in hell he lifts up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in the water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented (Selected Passages from Luke 16:19-25 KJV).
In our text for God’s message, His Son, Jesus Christ, portrays, not only to His disciples but to all of us who choose to read and digest His holy Word, the fates of two men-one a sore-laden, hungry beggar, and the other a greedy, stingy, rich man.
Even though the rich man was aware of the sad plight of the beggar stationed outside his gate as many rich people are aware of the plight of God’s people today, he completely ignored him.
Today, some of God’s blessed, wealthy children are deliberately orchestrating the same sad, indescribable plights of His unfortunate people to increase their already overflowing coffers, instead of using His gifts to them to lighten their loads and provide them and their families with their much needed necessities of life. They mistakenly believe they own all of them, but, after their demise and sometimes before…
In Jesus’ parable, God seeing His poor child’s plight, deliberately orchestrated by His rich child, housed him in heaven where there are no more pains, famines, sores, crying, sorrows, deaths, etc. (Rev 21:4). However, God’s selfish rich child was consigned to spend eternity in “hell” from which where there is no return (Rev. 21:8).
This writer is praying that those of you who feel at liberty to mistakenly purchase, deliberately, highly, over-priced whatever you perceive as preventative measures against God’s present ongoing crisis, will focus instead on prayers to Him for mercy and forgiveness against Him and each other.
Some of us are praying that those of you who have chosen, as usual, to take advantage of this present world’s crisis to “stuff” your already overladen pockets on the “backs” of God’s suffering children will repent and not follow the rich man’s consigned destination from which there is noooo return.
By the way, your social, political, educational, financial, etc., status will not exempt you from God’s wrath. Tell the rich man, in Jesus’ parable and others, “hello” upon your arrival-that is if you have chosen to travel his same road to hell.
Repent and Pray, my friends…. Only prayer and God’s mercy given through our acceptance of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, will save us now. Pray! Pray!! Pray!!!
Love you much,
P.S. It is imperative that we cease our focus on idol gods: cell phones, tablets, games, soap operas, television, social media, sports, partying, pornography obscene movies, etc., and turn our sole attention to praising GOD, our beloved CREATOR or His plagues will escalate it is not too late.
