Ministers, Deacons ordained at Tabernacle Baptist Church

Packed house shares in consecration; challenged to serve with humility


Three ministers, four deacons and three Mothers were consecrated Sunday during services at the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Rev. Oliver Billups, speaker for the occasion, said those being consecrated should remember that they are servants. Using a pan and a towel, Rev. Billups, pastor of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, urged the new leaders to be servants humble enough to wash the feet of those needing service.

Deacons ordained were: Matthew and Jessica Williams, Demetrius and Melanie Boose, Wilbert and Darlisha Reed, Frederick and Natalie Mitchell.
Ministers ordained were: Brian Reed, Nobie Harris, and Ibra January, Jr.

Three were consecrated as mothers: Fannie Reed, Geneva Zimmerman, and Lavargne Gunn-Ford.

Roosevelt Wright, Jr., pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church presented certificates and citations to those who were consecrated.
