When we receive the Son, we receive the Father

My Christian Friends,

The more I read about Jewish religious leaders noted in the Bible and how they refused the Messiah, it is arguably the greatest denial of the Father. The Father sent His Son, Jesus and they saw Him and spoke with Him, yet some of them did not believe in Him. As a matter of fact, in John 5, Jesus heals a man at the pool of Bethsaida which sparks the Jews reasoning to kill Him.

Because He healed on the Sabbath and stated that “My Father is still working and I am working, also” (John 5:17 NKJV), they believed that He was claiming to be equal to God. Well, they did not understand that if they did not receive the Son, then they do not receive the Father.

To support His claim to be God’s Son, Jesus said, “I assure you the Son is not able to do anything on His own, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does these things the same way. For the Father loves the Son and show Him everything He is doing and will show Him greater works than these so that you will be amazed. And just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so the Son also gives life to anyone He wants to. The Father, in fact, judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son, so that all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him” (John 5:19-23 NKJV).

In a conversation with a young man who apparently had lost sight of who Jesus is and what He has done for us, disturbed me to the point that I wanted to shake him and tell him to wake up!! How is it that individuals attend churches, Sunday after Sunday and hear Jesus preached, yet reverse their belief because of what a false teacher has said on Social media? I could not believe what I was hearing from this young man. His belief in honoring the Father but denying that Jesus is our Savior was preposterous. I became disturbed! So, I shared with him what Jesus did for us so that we may gain access to the Father. But to no avail. He held to his premise and so did I. So, I put into practice what Paul says in Romans 16:17 (NKJV), “Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.
